It is the summer season going on and there are many students in class 12th who have planned some or the other thing for their higher education. As per the latest government’s notification on the same, students need to appear in the CUET 2022 if they want to study in their aspired college. However, to clear this exam students need to understand briefly about the CUET Syllabus Exam Pattern.

The full form of the CUET exam is the Central Universities Entrance Test and students need to meet the CUET eligibility criteria. Always meet that minimum criteria and then appear for the examination. Coming back to the syllabus, if you do not have any directions or strategy to clear this examination, you might be wondering about where you went wrong. It is better to have the right direction and come up with the right strategy to clear this exam.

Remember that the competition will be tough and almost 1.68 lakh seats will be available in 54 central universities. CUET won’t be a cakewalk for you. If possible, join any coaching classes also to get the structured approach and the right guidance also to study. Try to solve as much as mock tests, sample papers or other related study materials to ace these exams with good scores.

As we are talking about the syllabus exam pattern of CUET, let us get the information about what kind of syllabus will it have?

According to the latest notification by NTA, there are total four sections in the CUET 2022:

  • Section IA will have 13 languages
  • Section IB will have 19 Languages 
  • Section II will have 27 Domain-specific Subjects 
  • Section III will be of General Test

Let us start with the first section that is Section IA. It will have 13 languages of 50 questions. Students have to attempt a minimum of 40 questions and the allocated time will be 45 minutes only.

Section IB also includes languages. However, it contains 19 languages and the same number of questions and the allocated time like in section IA. To make the language studies perfect, it is recommended to have a good command over the vocabulary. 

Section II is crucial because it contains domains or fields in which students are applying in universities. And the number of questions are the same as IA and IB. It means 50 questions out of which 40 need to be attempted in 45 minutes. 

Section III might be easier for many of you if you are preparing for other competitive exams. It is because this section is a general test that deals with current affairs.

Language Test

In section IA and IB, there will be 13 and 19 languages included. So, it is advisable to have some command over language studies also apart from core subjects like maths and science. Students will be asked different kinds of questions like reading comprehension, passages and much more.

Section 1 A will include English, Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Malayalam & Urdu.

Section 1 B will include foreign languages including Indian ones. Chinese, German, French, Arabic, Italian, Gujarati, Spanish, Tibetan, Dogri, Bodo, Kashmiri, Konkani, Bengali, Assamese and Nepali, Russian, Maithili, Japanese, Manipuri, Santhali and Sindhi.

Domain specific subjects

In which field are you going to pursue your career? Whatever class XII NCERT modules are there, that only will be your domain specific. Business Studies, Maths, Science, Accounting, Social Science and much more are included in this list. 

General studies

In this section your general ability will be tested. You will be asked questions based on numerical ability, GK, reasoning and others.
